Simplifying
I've decided to simplify my life this year. One of the ways I'm doing that is by only writing on one blog. Crazy idea right? The difficulty comes in saying goodbye to Xanga. I've been here for a long time. I think Nate and Ema got me started back in 2003. I can't say I won't miss Xanga, but it's time to move on.

Blessings Upon You in this New Year!
Every good gift comes from the Father of light.
May He grant you His grace and every blessing,
and keep you safe throughout the coming year.
May He grant you unwavering faith,
constant hope, and love that endures to the end.
May He order your days and work in His peace,
hear your every prayer,
and lead you to everlasting life and joy.
May Almighty God bless you
abundantly in the coming year.
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
Amen.

Three District Youth Conference
Sunday morning I accompanied the youth group to 3DYC. It was good. Our theme was "renew." Dave Livermore taught 5 sessions titled: renew, redeem, resolve, revere, and reset. He was animated and very knowledgeable. He was clearly passionate about what he was teaching. In addition to the sessions there were talent performances to watch (several students took second place), athletes to cheer on (one of our dodgeball teams took first place), and hours of free time to fill. I spent hours playing cards, being silly, and taking pictures--in general just being with the students. The time was well spent. I look forward to continuing some of the conversations that were started this week.
In other unrelated news, I am contemplating some changes for the new year. None of the options seem like major changes right now, but there may be some effects or consequences I haven't considered yet. When I make decisions, I'll share them with you. Until then you'll have to suffer in the land of not knowing. :)

home for the holidays
We're all at home now. My brother's has moved home from college. He's looking for a job. I came in yesterday evening, and my dad arrived from Lafayette today. (He goes on Sunday nights and comes back on Fridays. It's not a fun situation for my parents.) Anyway, now that we've all been home together for about 30 minutes, we are enjoying each others' company. In fact, my dad is enjoying us so much he just left to "go get a pop," which is code for "I need a break from you people already."
Ah, family time. It's so nice to be together once again. :)

Not in this lifetime
There is no way you could get me to have a baby in this creepy hospital.
